Ask many BOI (Born On the Island) and they will tell you that the West End of Galveston begins at 61st St. For our purposes, the West End is defined as everything West of the Seawall. All of Galveston's beautiful beaches can be found on the West End. The further West you travel the bluer the water and the whiter the sand. Galveston Island ends 18 miles past the Seawall at the San Luis Pass - a very popular fishing spot. The pass is also where the Bay meets the Gulf. If you take the toll bridge over the pass you will be in Treasure Island and on your way to Surfside.
All of the subdivisions on the West End of Galveston consist mainly of Resort Property used primarily as second and/or vacation homes. Prices range from just under $100,000 to over a Million dollars. Many of the homes are waterfront, whether they are canal, beach, wetland, or bay homes.
